Chalkboard labels using Chalk Markers

Now that Christmas is safely packed away for another 12 months, I've moved on to springtime gift giving. I have several friends' birthdays coming up and I like to steal moments here and there out of my busy day, to go a little step further with embellished packaging.

I was recently asked to try these liquid chalk markers by Craft Skill. Mine came in a box of 18 markers and 6 extra tips. The colors are so bright - there's even florescent pink, yellow and green. As you can see, I chose more subtle spring colors for this gift box project.

The tips of the markers are reversible so that you have a round tip as well as a chiseled tip available to use with each marker. Perfect for calligraphy experts (and non-experts too!)
I started out by cutting a tag from chalkboard cardstock (affiliate links at the bottom of this post). It has the perfect chalkboard-y texture and it's my favorite because it's double-sided and very durable.
The markers need to be shaken well before use to activate the ink. Then you pump the tip of the marker a few times onto scrap paper and super bright color starts to soak the through. At this point, you know they're ready to use.

I created a simple design because I'm yet to take that calligraphy class I've been so meaning to do.

Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post, however I did receive a sample for my review. All opinions are my own and not influenced in any way.

    1. Hi Tiffany! I used a Fiskars 'succulent' paper punch to cut the individual petals and I glued them all together. I don't have a tutorial right now, but I do have plans for other projects using this punch, so stay tuned! Here's a link to the tool I used : http://www2.fiskars.com/Products/Crafting-and-Sewing/Punches/Succulent-Lever-Punch-XXXX-Large
